Revised Random Spell Cards Table



Random Spell Cards
If you don’t use the Warhammer Quest Game Cards or are looking for another approach, this table is for you. These are the original spell cards with some fun adjustments.
House Rules:
All Healing type spells can be used vs. Undead as damage and are considered as an Attack spell. See each Healing spell for details.
Healing Spells can only be cast BL times per Turn.    
All Attack Spells count as an Attack while Defensive, Healing and Special spells can be cast any time unless indicated.
Certain spells increase in damage or effect according to the caster’s Battle Level to reflect their mastery over magic.

Pit of Despair

Details: Pick any 2x2 square area on the board and place the Pit of Despair token on it. Roll 1D6 for each model standing under the token. On a 1-2, the Monster has fallen in the pit. Only half the Gold is earned for this kill. On a 4+ place the Monster on a free adjacent square. If there are no squares available, the Monster automatically falls in.
This token is permanently in play unless dispelled.  
Target: Any 2x2 square area on the board within LOS.
Duration: Immediate and Permanent

Fireball

Details: Pick any 2x2 square area on the board within LOS. Any models within suffers 1D6+Battle Level Wounds, only modified for Toughness.

Freeze!

Details: The number you rolled when casting equals two things:
1.       The number of Monsters affected
2.       The amount of damage inflicted with no modifications for anything.
Targets must be within LOS. The caster can chose the
targets freely. Each target can be struck only once. If the number rolled exceeds possible enemy targets, they are wasted.
Target:  Targets must be within LOS

Ogre Strength

Details: Target model gains +2 Strength for the rest of the Turn.
Target: Any model within LOS.

Life Force

Details: Pick any model who has not attacked yet this Turn. Any damage target model inflicts after modifications this Turn are channeled to the Wizard as healing Wounds that can be distributed as desired to models within LOS. The Wizard can channel these healing Wounds as they come in, at the end of each Attack and does not need to wait until the end of the Turn to distribute them.
 vs. Undead: Any healing Wounds distributed onto Undead models is considered an Attack and can only be done if the Wizard has at least one unused Attack available this Turn. Damage is without any modifications unless the Wizard has Fear or Terror for the target Undead Monster. Subtract the Fear/Terror factor from the damage total.    
Target:  Any model within LOS.
Duration: This Turn.

Healing

Resurrection

Details: Target model gains full Wounds and recovers from any lingering damage or negative effects prior to death. In addition, the Warrior’s Death Number is negated.
vs. Undead: Target Undead Monster takes BLD6 damage with no modifications. If the spell caster suffers from Fear or Terror from Target Undead Monster, then ignore only Toughness and Armor with the damage. The spell can be Magically Resisted or Dispelled as usual.   
Target: Any dead ally or Undead Monster. 
Duration: Immediate

Lifebringer

Details: Pick any number of models on the board, each rolls a D6. If any two models roll the same number, the spell is cancelled. Otherwise, target models heals the number rolled.
vs. Undead: The Wizard must not have Fear or Terror of targeted Undead Monsters. Pick any number of models on the board, each rolls a D6. If any two models roll the same number, the spell is cancelled. Otherwise, target models take the number rolled damage with no modifications.
Target: Target models within LOS.

Iron Skin

Details: Target model gains +2 Toughness. Add +1 for every Title level starting at Champion.

Lightning Bolt

Details: Target LOS model suffers 2D6 + Battle Level Wounds. The extra Battle Level Wounds have no modifications for Toughness or Armor.

Heal Wounds

Details: Target Warrior within LOS heals 1D6 Wounds
vs. Undead: Target Undead within LOS takes 1D6 damage with no modifications of any kind. Damage inflicted cannot be Regenerated.

Shield

Details: Target LOS model is immune to all Attacks unless a natural 6 To Hit is rolled, 5+  for Spell attacks and amgical weapons. The model can move or fight as usual.
vs. Undead: An energy shield surrounds target Undead Monster enabling it to move for the rest of the Turn. The Wizard must cannot suffer from any Fear or Terror from target Undead Monster.
Target:  Target LOS model.
Duration: This Turn.

Rebound

Details: When target LOS model is attacked, on a 6+ (-1 / Battle Level Title e.g. Champion 5+, Hero 4+) all damage is rebounded back onto the attacker with no modifications for Toughness or Armor.
Target: Target ally LOS model.

Confuse

Details:  Target LOS model loses 1 Attack this Turn. For every  Battle Level Title add +1 to Attacks lost (e.g. Champion 2, Hero 3).  
Target:  Target LOS model.

Levitate

Details: Target model or object is lifted off the ground and displaced up to Battle Level squares within LOS by being levitated in the air. The Wizard cannot have adjacent Monsters attacking him while casting this spell. It can be casted Battle Level times per Turn.
As an Attack Spell, the Wizard can force any model to move where desired up to Battle Level squares within LOS. If the Wizard suffers from Fear/Terror from target model, take a WP Test. Passing means -1 square of possible levitated movement for Fear, -2 for Terror. Failure and the spell does too.
Target:  Target LOS model.
Duration: Rest if the Turn or as the Wizard desires.

Details: Every Warrior on the board has 1+BL Wounds healed.
vs. Undead: All Undead Monsters on the same board take 1+BL Wounds with no modifications that cannot be Regenerated.
