Initiative dictates battle, Movement and placing Monsters order. No Warrior or Monster Phase. This prevents a dwarf from attacking before a dragon or an elf from sitting on a Dungeon Lord’s throne before it is even placed. Leaders still take priority for Movement throughout the game, but when in a combat situation, Initiative rules.
Spells and/or other effects still
last until the end of the Turn, and any roll at the start of a Warrior or
Monster Phase starts when it is that model’s turn to be played. This can be a
great disadvantage to any Warrior or Monster with a low Initiative since they
get to fight later.
Special items a like Frost Ring
actually grant the Warriors the classic approach for kicks, creating a Warrior
and Monster Phase for that Turn only.
To facilitate this change, I
recommend a simple Initiative chart like the one below.
